The Rapid Pulse Candle Filter is a modified version of the proven and time-tested Ell Ess Candle Filter, which is adapted to suit to the requirements of the effluent characteristics. The Rapid Pulse Candle Filter employs approx. 10-micron rating cloth as a filter medium, which is mounted on a specially designed candle, which makes the filter back washable and CIP (Clean-in-place). The filter employs intermittent air pulses for discharging the solids from over the candles. The Rapid Pulse Candle Filter specially designed for filtration of Slimy solids with low porosity and tendency to choke.

OPERATION

• The liquid enters filter from the top inlet nozzle and passes through the candles. The clear filtrate leaves the filter from side outlet nozzle.

• The solids start depositing over the candles and when they form a particular thickness after which the pressure drop crosses a preset limit, pulses of air is given to the individual rows of candles one by one in the reverse direction of flow.

• Due to this the solids are dislodged from the candles and settle at the bottom conical portion of the filter. After 2 or 3 discharges the bottom slurry discharge nozzle is opened and thick slurry is discharged out of the filter.
